Scuba masks
Scuba masks are an essential piece of scuba equipment. The optical density of water is very different from the air we normally see through without the aid of a mask.
In order to see anything deep under the water, scuba masks are needed to allow the eyes to focus on the underwater surroundings. A skirt around the mask seals in air and keeps the water out.
The most recent advance in scuba masks is called “Double Dome™”. The company making the new, high-tech masks say that with the flat masks divers have been using for 70 years, 75% of natural field of vision is lost. The dome technology is supposed to improve underwater vision and situational awareness to make hand-eye coordination, navigation, buoyancy, and the buddy system all work safer.
